I've asked local parents for their favorite family-friendly activities this Spring. Enjoy!
1. Delaware County Summer Festival in Rose Tree Park
Who doesn't love music, picnics, and free entertainment for the entire family? Rose Tree Park hosts free outdoor concerts (of all kinds) Wednesday-Sunday evenings (plus children's shows at 10:00 am in the morning) from mid-June to mid-August. There are concessions stands, but you can bring your own food and have a picnic with the kids while enjoying a show.
2. The Little Mermaid at the Media Theatre
A musical version of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid is being performed at Media Theater on Sundays at noon from March 25, 2018 through May 20, 2018. This show, which is one hour in length, is appropriate for ages 4+ (and removes any and all references to scary villains, so prepare for a perfectly pleasant version of the show).
3. Dining Under The Stars
Spending time outdoors and having family meals are two of the best ways to connect with your children. Dining Under the Stars is a wonderful event every Wednesday evening from May through September whereby the main street in downtown Media gets shut down to traffic and all of the local restaurants put their tables outside for dinner. If your kids tend to get rowdy, it's a great opportunity to go out to eat at your favorite "grown-up" restaurants without worrying about noise-level. When you're eating outside, all the restaurants become very kid-friendly!
